About the event
Course: A Level Computer Science: The Central Processing Unit (4hrs)
In this training session we will look at Von Neumann architecture in detail, looking at the movement of data and information through the registers, units and buses in each FDE cycle. We will also look at factors affecting performance, and the purpose of interrupts and how the computer deals with them. You will understand and be able to code in assembly language. You will leave with a range of strategies to build links between the CPU and other topics on the A Level specification.
Do you want to…?
- Understand how the registers and units carry out the FDE cycle
- Improve your confidence in teaching CPU architecture
- Learn how to code in assembly language
