Your first step towards confident computing education
Through practical CPD, classroom-ready resources and an ongoing teacher community, Launch Pad gives non-specialists the necessary foundation to deliver programming and networking with confidence, opening new opportunities for young people to explore technology.
Across the UK, many teachers are asked to teach computing without specialist training.
Launch Pad has been created to help with this issue.
Through beginner-friendly professional development, practical classroom resources and ongoing support, teachers develop the confidence to introduce programming and networking in engaging, accessible ways.
Whatever your background, Launch Pad will give you the subject knowledge and pedagogy to approach topics with confidence and allow you to access further training as part of your teaching development.
All course materials and supporting resources are freely available to help you continue your computing journey
For those who cannot get out of the classroom, we have broken the training down into a series of 1 hour online sessions that will be led by an experienced teacher.
All sessions will be recorded so you can refer back to them at your leisure to help retention.
In-Person Training
Two full-day courses will be available at locations throughout the country. One will cover the basics of hardware and networking, whilst the other will introduce teaching programming using Python. Both courses will cover Subject knowledge and pedagogy allowing you to take your learning directly into the classroom.
