Just some of the examples of how we are working with organisations to reduce digital poverty, increase digital inclusion and develop the digital leaders of tomorrow:



Amazon Future Engineer
We enable Amazon to reach young people to develop the future skills of tomorrow's engineers through co-created curriculum resources such as Coding for Climate Action and provide teacher training. The developed resources share Amazon's sustainability work, available careers and their prioritised future skills and careers pathways.
As part of this partnership, we develop resources, create and dellivery training content and delivery workshops covering topics including data centres and AI. We use our vast connection with schools and teachers to provide high reach and impact.

UKRI
We collaborate with UKRI to help share inspiring research, career pathways and insights from young scientists with our network of community and youth groups and schools. This partnership has produced the popular EcoCode programme, which highlights recent sustainability research across departments including space, lasers and particle accelerators.
In this partnership, we develop exciting, engaging and active learning resources where young people can engage in STEM through physical computing with the micro:bit. We also provide training for community and educational leaders to build their confidence alongside the delivery of workshops, festivals and summer camps which are supported by UKRI ambassadors.





CIVICA
We work with Civica to provide their employees with impactful volunteering opportunities at every level. These opportunities span across the whole organisation where support is provided to the charity at a strategic and operational level.
In this partnership we have been able to provide volunteering activities for staff to support hackathons with young people, develop our strategic direction and provide opportunities for women at Civica to share their technical roles such as cyber security with students. This partnership has also enabled the charity to recycle IT equipment such as laptops to help schools setup girls' esports clubs.

8x8
Our partnership with 8x8 has enabled the organisation to increase its capacity to deliver social value projects in specific areas of high deprivation. We have helped the organisation to connect with underserved and underrepresented communities with engaging workshops where young people develop their engineering and computer science skills to build functional sustainability-focused prototypes.





Cisco Foundation
In our partnership with Cisco, we are providing professional development for non-specialist and early-career computer science teachers with co-created content on the topics of Pytrhon programming and networks. This partnership includes a focus on key yearly opportunties linking the organisations staff with teachers and students such as international womens' day.
We align material provided by the foundation with the school curricular to ensure there are opportunities for the content to be delivered during curriculum time, extending the reach to teachers and young people beyond enrichment.

Jonas Software
Working with Jonas Software enabled the charity to provide a one-off festival where hundreds of young people from different communities attended a full-day hackathon with a focus on developing their programming skills through collaboration and challenge. The charity arranged for ten of of their staff in departments including software development and digital marketing, to help mentor and coach small groups of pupils to help them develop sustainability-focused prototypes.

Octopus Energy
With Octopus Energy, we provided STEM workshops for young people and training for community leaders and teachers with a focus on renewable energy. Our volunteers and ambassadors worked with groups of chidren across the UK including Swindon, Portsmouth, Reading, Birmingham, Devon and Leeds where they created physical systems connecting sensors to create weather stations, early warning systems and solar-powered solutions using the micro:bit.

RAL Space
In collaboration with RAL Space, the charity developed Out of this World, a programme where young poeple get active with physical computing and explore astronaut fitness. They code micro:bits to detect movement and create base counters, fitness assistants, steady movement monitors and use radio transmission to find frequenceis of alien life and report back to base. The activities included key messages from young women in the RAL Space staff, sharing their careers and enthursiasm with space. These activities were provided in community and youth groups, schools and as a two-day summer camp which was also supported by RAL Space ambassadors.

Natural History Museum
With the National History Museum, the charity co-created a serires of AI and biodiversity lesson resources for teachers to support students to create their own biodiversity study. In these resources, students learn how AI works, ethical considerations and the concept of machine learning. These resources form a scheme of work made available through the National Education Nature Park. These resources help students to understand how AI can inform important environmental studies and enable them to develop important critical data science and self-evaluation skills.
Where are they now?
Our work is guided by young people we once taught who are now applying digital skills in their careers. Former students including Kiara, Grace, and Lea support Digit<all>'s steering group today, helping us understand the skills employers need and how we can inspire more young people, particularly girls, to see technology as part of their future.

Kiara is a Software Developer working at IBM. She develops IBM z/OS Connect ©, which helps organisations modernise their core business applications by making mainframe systems accessible through APIs. Her role involves designing and developing new features, collaborating with teams across IBM, and helping customers connect traditional systems with modern digital technologies. She is also passionate about sharing knowledge and has presented webinars demonstrating how developers can build and manage APIs on IBM Z.
Through her ambassadorship with Digit<all>, Kiara promotes technical career pathways and shares her experiences with the next generation. Today, she is building technology used by organisations around the world while working as part of a global development team. She continues to learn new skills, contribute to innovative projects, and help shape the future of enterprise technology.Before beginning secondary school, Kiara aspired to become a dog handler in the police force. However, exposure to technology and coding in Year 7, particularly through Scratch, changed her aspirations and influenced the direction of her future career. She discovered software development in its most basic form and was fascinated by the opportunity to challenge herself while solving real-world problems.
This passion continued to grow throughout her school years and cemented her ambition to become a software engineer. These early experiences helped her realise that technology is not just about coding, but about creating solutions that make people's lives and work easier. Her career demonstrates how an early interest in digital skills can lead to exciting opportunities in software development and technology leadership.Don't worry if you don't know exactly what area of technology interests you yet. Be curious, try new things, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Building confidence through small projects and learning from others is often more important than knowing everything from the start.
Technology is constantly changing, which is one of the things Kiara enjoys most about her career. There is always something new to learn, meaning no two days are ever quite the same. While technology careers offer exciting opportunities, the skills gained through learning about technology are valuable regardless of the career path someone chooses. Technology plays a role in almost every aspect of modern life, and skills such as problem-solving, communication, creativity, and digital literacy are highly transferable across industries. Most importantly, technology benefits from diverse perspectives, so there is a place for anyone who is willing to learn and get involved.

Grace is currently a Data Scientist at Lloyds Banking Group, where she works with data and artificial intelligence to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions. Before joining Lloyds, she spent eight years at IBM working in AI consulting. During this time, she worked directly with clients, including large banks, and helped build AI assistants and other AI-powered solutions.
Starting her career at just 18, she was quickly given the opportunity to work on real-world projects, which gave her valuable experience and helped shape her career in technology.
Grace first became interested in technology while studying Computer Science at secondary school. Although Computer Science was not particularly popular among the girls at her school, she enjoyed coding and was keen to learn more. She became involved with TeenTech, which introduced her to the wide range of opportunities available within the technology sector and showed her that a career in technology could take many different forms.
She also took part in external technology activities through her school and mentored younger students through TeenTech competitions. As a TeenTech Digital Ambassador, she had the opportunity to work with large technology companies including Google, Microsoft and IBM. These experiences helped her realise that she wanted to pursue a career in technology and, in particular, explore the growing opportunities in AI.
Grace’s biggest piece of advice to younger students is to say yes and try new things. She believes that being exposed to opportunities such as TeenTech and the opportunities which Digit<all> offer can help young people understand what careers are available and discover areas they may not otherwise have considered. She would encourage girls to apply for every apprenticeship opportunity they can and not be put off if they feel different from the people around them — whether they are the youngest person in the room or the only girl.
Grace chose an apprenticeship over university because she wanted to gain practical experience, having seen others take that route, and began her career at IBM at 18. Her experience has shown her that being willing to step outside your comfort zone can open the door to exciting opportunities and a rewarding career in technology.

Lea is a Cloud and ML Engineer at Storm Reply UK, an AWS Premier Partner that consults on, builds, and manages cloud-based solutions. Within Storm Reply, she specialises in and focuses on ML and GenAI, designing and delivering AWS-based systems that put artificial intelligence to real-world use. Her role involves architecting solutions, building working demos, and guiding technical decisions that shape how these systems are built.
Her role has given her the opportunity to work across a wide range of clients and industries, from retail and hospitality to logistics, manufacturing, and construction. Each project brings its own challenges, and Lea enjoys adapting her approach to fit different sectors, technical environments, and business needs, whether that means architecting a new cloud solution or helping a team modernise how they work.
Lea's interest in technology started well before secondary school; modding Minecraft, and jailbreaking devices in her spare time. This curiosity led to her taking GCSE Computer Science, where she learnt Python, alongside fundamentals such as logic gates. During GCSEs, she took part in her first Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions and attended a cybersecurity-focused residential programme, which opened her eyes to the breadth of careers within cybersecurity and technology more broadly.
Through these extracurriculars, and the chance to speak to people already working in the industry, she began to see just how varied tech careers could be; including roles, like her own, that go beyond pure technical work and involve a strong client-facing element. That early exposure carried through into further extracurricular technology programmes and eventually into a digital technology bursary supporting her university studies.
Technology is such a broad and diverse industry, and each corner of it has incredible depth. Whatever your preferences are, from hands-on technical work, design, management, or something else entirely, there's almost certainly a role and sector within tech that will suit what you want. Rather than trying to force yourself into a mould that doesn't quite fit, focus on what genuinely motivates and excites you. Trust that excelling in the things you enjoy will naturally push you towards the path that's right for you.
