Sustainable Computing with the micro:bit open to Year 5 pupils in and around Swindon
EcoCode is an exciting new project enabling young people in schools and communities to explore the exciting world of sustainable physical computing through the lens of ground breaking research at UKRI and the Rutherford Appleton Laboratories.
Children from schools in and around Swindon are invited to attend the two-day summer school. Children attended must be in Year 5 for the 2024-2025 academic year). Transport will be provided from Swindon New College by coach where they will be taken to the Rutherford Appleton Laboratories near Didcot. A return coach will also be provided back to Swindon New College. There is no charge for attending the summer camp.
The two days will involve active coding activities using the micro:bit where children will design and build sustainable solutions to real-world challenges. Lunch and snacks will be provided on the day but if preferred, children can be provided with a packed lunch.
"The teaching, websites, food and coach were of first class quality. My experience has and will change my life forever"
